Hello everyone, I’m sharing this Smoked Sausage Gumbo recipe as it is perfect for this cold weather.  I had to go into town yesterday for a small procedure on my eye.  Unfortunately it was freezing cold with constant snowy rain making for a pretty miserable afternoon.  I  enjoyed a big bowl of this gumbo when I got back into the warm house.

Try out my new lunch recipe for this delicious and hearty Gluten and Dairy Free Smoked Sausage Gumbo

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan over a medium heat

  2. Add in the smoked sausage, onion, pepper, garlic and basil

  3. Saute for 5 minutes

  4. Add the chicken stock, chopped tomatoes, rice and hot sauce

  5. Bring to a boil

  6. Reduce the heat so the soup is simmering and cook for 25 minutes or until the rice is tender

  7. Split between four bowls and serve
