Hello everyone, today’s recipe is for a gluten free and dairy free Black Forest Bircher.

Trying to be a bit more organised with my recipes this week – I just ran out of time last week and you got everything on Friday and Saturday!  It was a busy but fun weekend with my niece’s third birthday and also my birthday.  We were both spoiled by everyone and of course shared a gluten and dairy free cake.  When I get five minutes I’ll have look at the birthday cake photos and see what I can share with you guys – it was a berry and white chocolate Madeira cake.

Today’s recipe is a bit healthier than the aforementioned madeira cake but is still super tasty.  I’ve made a quick overnight oats flavoured with cocoa and cherries.  This is a great prep ahead breakfast for those mornings when you want a healthy start but don’t have a lot of time.

  1. Mix together the grated apple, gluten free oats, cocoa powder, dairy free natural yoghurt, cherries and maple syrup

  2. Divide between two glasses and chill in the fridge overnight
  3. Top with the mixed berries and grated dark chocolate
