Add all the ingredients for the donuts into a bowl and beat for 5 minutes to activate the yeast

Cover the bowl with cling film and leave to rise in a draft free warm place for 60 minutes

Roll out to about 1/2" thick on a piece of baking paper

Cut out 9 circles, then stamp out a small hole in the middle

Place on a baking sheet, cover and leave to rise for 30 minutes

Mix a little sugar with the cinnamon

Heat a deep pan with about a cup of oil until it is about 180 oC

Fry each donut for about 1 minute on each side

Remove from the oil and toss in the cinnamon sugar
