Beef Satay w/ Watercress Salad (Gluten Free, Dairy Free)

    For the steak:
  • 2 thin cut steaks
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and pepper (for seasoning)
  • For the satay sauce:
  • 2 tablespoons smooth peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons tamari
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 pinches chilli flakes
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 tablespoon lime juice
  • For the watercress salad:
  • 2 large handfuls of watercress
  • 1 tomato (sliced)
  • 1/2 small red onion (sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon peanuts
  • 2 tablespoons easy salad dressing (*)
  1. Whisk together the ingredients for the satay sauce.  If it is too thick you can add a little hot water.

  2. Mix together the watercress, tomato, red onion, peanuts and easy salad dressing

  3. Season the steaks with salt and pepper.  Heat the olive oil in a shallow pan over a high heat.  

  4. Cook the steaks for about 3 minutes each side and allow to rest for a couple of minutes then cut into strips.

  5. Serve with the satay sauce and watercress salad
