Try out my new recipe for gluten free and dairy free Louisiana Rice - perfect as either a side dish or as a main meal.

  • 270 grams basmati rice
  • 2 olive oil
  • 200 grams mushrooms (sliced)
  • 300 grams smoked pork sausage (double check it is gf) (sliced)
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 1 red pepper (diced)
  • 1 green pepper (diced)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • good pinch of chilli flakes
  • 2 gluten free soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • salt and pepper for seasoning
  1. Cook the basmati rice according to the instructions on the packet and set aside

  2. Add the olive oil into a large shallow pan over a medium heat

  3. Saute the mushrooms, pork sausage, onion, peppers, garlic and chilli flakes for about 10 minutes

  4. Stir in the cooked rice, gluten free soy sauce, thyme, smoked paprika and season to taste

  5. Hea through for 5 minutes and serve
