Chocolate Donuts with Cinnamon Sugar (Gluten Free, Dairy Free)

dried fast active yeast

water
(warmed in microwave for 20 seconds)

dairy free milk or soya chocolate milk
(warmed in microwave for 30 seconds)

oil for frying
sugar for decorating plus 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions

Add all the ingredients for the donuts into a bowl and beat for 5 minutes to activate the yeast

Cover the bowl with cling film and leave to rise in a draft free warm place for 60 minutes

Roll out to about 1/2" thick on a piece of baking paper

Cut out 9 circles, then stamp out a small hole in the middle

Place on a baking sheet, cover and leave to rise for 30 minutes

Mix a little sugar with the cinnamon

Heat a deep pan with about a cup of oil until it is about 180 oC

Fry each donut for about 1 minute on each side

Remove from the oil and toss in the cinnamon sugar
