Gluten and Dairy Free Steamed Jam Sponge Pudding

Apart from a Christmas pudding, I haven’t made any other kind of steamed pudding.  I was inspired by Great British Bake Off a few months ago when they made traditional desserts to get into the kitchen.  I thought I would start with a basic jam sponge cake and from there I’ll work on some interesting flavour combinations.

I took this round to my sister’s and we enjoyed this as a family with some Alpro dairy free custard.
