Gluten and Dairy Free Creme Eggs

Hands up if you miss a certain chocolate egg with a creamy filling! It can be quite difficult to get the chocolate the correct thickness, too thin and it will break coming out of the mould, too thick and there is no room for the filling. I personally found it was easier to get the eggs out a silicon mould, to begin with I had a plastic one and found it tricky.

They taste like the real deal but look a little bit messy!

Gluten and Dairy Free Hot Cross Buns

Hot Cross Buns

A hot cross bun is a spiced fruit bun with a cross piped on the top. Traditionally the cross was made from shortcrust pastry but in recent years this has changed to the easier method of a flour and water paste.

The buns can be made with the original sultanas and citrus peel or a more modern variation of apple pieces or in New Zealand they often substitute the sultanas for chocolate chips (dairy free in our case!)

Dairy and Gluten Free Creme Eggs

This is my first gluten and dairy free Easter and one of the things I’m missing is a certain chocolate egg with a creamy filling!
