Gluten and Dairy Free Orange Marmalade Loaf

If you love oranges then this loaf cake is for you. To get the most out of the orangey flavour it includes marmalade, orange juice, orange zest and just to be sure I’ve topped it with a few orange slices. If that isn’t enough orange for you then serve the loaf topped with a little extra marmalade.




  • 150g dairy free spread
  • 150g caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 75g orange marmalade
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • zest of one orange
  • 150g gluten free self-raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon xanthan gum
  • 100g ground almonds or ground rice
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 thin slices of orange with peel on


  1. Preheat the oven to 180 oC
  2. Grease and line a loaf tin
  3. Beat together the dairy free spread and caster sugar
  4. Beat in the eggs, marmalade, orange juice and orange zest
  5. Stir in the flour, xanthan gum, ground almonds and baking powder
  6. Pour into the loaf tin and top with the orange slices
  7. Bake for 45 minutes
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before slicing
