It’s time to start thinking about what treats you would like to prepare for those Halloween parties and just because we have food restrictions we shouldn’t be missing out.

I’ve started my series of gluten and dairy free recipes with a simple little cupcake topped with buttercream frosting and some edible wafer skelton butterflies.

I purchased the butterflies at the Craft Company as they have a lot of cake decorations that are gluten and dairy free. They helpfully list the ingredients in all their products so it makes it really easy to see what you can and can’t eat.

For the cupcakes:

  • 150g dairy free spread
  • 150g caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 150g self raising gluten free flour
  • 1 teaspoon xanthan gum

For the frosting:

  • 100g dairy free butter
  • 200g icing sugar
  • gluten and dairy free halloween decorations
