Gluten and Dairy Free Gingerbread Waffles

serves / makes 4


  • 110ml treacle
  • 100ml honey
  • 110g dairy free spread
  • 140ml dairy free milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 250g gluten free plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon


  1. Place the treacle, honey and dairy free spread in a pan
  2. Melt over a medium heat then leave to cool slightly
  3. In a large bowl mix together the flour, ginger, cinnamon and baking powder
  4. Stir in the egg, milk and treacle mix
  5. Heat a waffle iron and cook for about 4-5 minutes
  6. Serve with some fruit and dairy free yoghurt
