Gluten and Dairy Free Cranberry Sauce

Want to make your own cranberry sauce for Christmas or worried that the shop bought jar will contain gluten or dairy then this simple recipe is for you.




  • 225g fresh cranberries
  • 200g caster sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon port, optional
  • 100ml water


  1. Place all the ingredients in a large pot and bring to the boil
  2. Simmer gently until the cranberries begin to burst
  3. Remove from the heat and place in a sterilised jar, allow to cool completely
  4. Refrigerate and use within one month
