Gluten and Dairy Free BBQ Pulled Chicken

This is a great dinner for during the week. I put together the sauce the night before, in the morning I add the chicken put on the slow cooker and dinner is ready when I get home from work. I like to to serve the chicken in gluten free buns with coleslaw, salad and fries. The leftovers are great with some dairy free cheese in a gluten free wrap.




  • 400ml passata
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • salt and pepper for easing
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 large chicken breasts


  1. Place all the ingredients in a slow cooker
  2. Cook on low for 8 hours
  3. Remove the chicken breasts and pull apart with two forks
  4. Add some of the tomato sauce from the slow cooker to the chicken
  5. Serve in a gluten free bun with coleslaw and fries
