Gluten and Dairy Free Banana and Maple Syrup Porridge

Porridge makes a lovely warm and filling breakfast. I’ve added in some mashed banana and maple syrup to flavour the porridge but you can change this to whatever toppings you like.


  • 100g gluten free porridge oats
  • 700ml water or dairy free milk
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup plus extra for drizzling
  • 2 bananas

  1. Mash 1.5 banans, slice the other half banana and set aside for topping the porridge
  2. Mix the oats and milk/water together in a saucepan
  3. Bring to the boil and simmer for 4-5 minutes
  4. Stir through the mashed banana and maple syrup
  5. Heat for 1 minute
  6. Split between the two bowls and top with the slice banana and an extra drizzle of maple syrup
