Gluten, Dairy & Egg Free Bacon & Red Onion Scone Round

Ingredients

  • 4 slices streaky bacon, cut into thin stripes
  • 1/2 red onion, diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 40g dairy free spread
  • 220g gluten free self-raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 100ml dairy free milk
  • salt and pepper for seasoning

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 oC
  2. Gently saute the onion, garlic and streaky bacon in a shallow pan for 5 minutes
  3. In a large bowl place the self-raising flour, oregano and seasoning
  4. Rub in the dairy free spread until it resembles bread crumbs
  5. Stir through the bacon and red onion
  6. Add the dairy free milk
  7. Shape into a round about 4cms thick
  8. Score into quarters
  9. Bake in the centre of the oven for 25 minutes
