Gluten and Dairy Free Banana Cinnamon Pancakes with Chocolate Sauce

Serves 4


For the pancakes:

  • 200g gluten free self-raising flour
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 egg
  • 175ml dairy free milk
  • 1 banana, mashed

For the chocolate sauce:

  • 30g cocoa powder
  • 65g brown sugar
  • 160ml dairy free milk
  • 170g dairy free dark chocolate
  • 25g dairy free spread


  1. In a large bowl stir together the flour, cinnamon and caster sugar
  2. Beat the egg and stir into the flour mix
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk until you have a smooth batter
  4. Stir in the mashed banana
  5. Heat a drizzle of oil in a shallow pan over a medium heat
  6. Add a quarter of the mix into the pan and cook for a couple of minutes on each side
  7. Repeat until you have cooked all the pancakes
  8. Start making the chocolate sauce by placing the chocolate, cocoa powder, brown sugar and milk in a saucepan
  9. Place over a medium heat and stirring until the ingredients are melted and well combined
  10. Bring to the boil and then simmer for 5 minutes, set aside to cool slightly
  11. Pour over the pancakes
