Gluten and Dairy Free Barbecue Pork Belly

This makes a quick and easy dinner as you can prepare the rub the night before. You can also use the barbecue rub in any recipe you like if you are not a fan of pork belly or just fancy a change.

I served this on a bed of roasted onion and peppers with some homemade potato wedges.




  • 4 slices pork belly
  • olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • salt and pepper for seasoning


  1. Preheat the oven to 180 oC
  2. Drizzle some olive oil on the pork belly slices
  3. Combine all the herbs and spices together and rub onto the pork
  4. Sear all sides of the pork in a frying pan over a high heat
  5. Transfer to the oven and cook for another 20 minutes
