Gluten & Dairy Free Chocolate Madeleines

Hello everyone

I love making madeleines for two reason.  The first being that they are a really quick cake batter to put together and the lovely shell shape makes them look pretty without too much effort – I’m actually a lazy cook at heart.

The second reason being my soon to be 2 year old niece.  I made her a tiny madeleine a few weeks ago and it is now a word she says perfectly which is really cute.  It amuses me to see a toddler ask for a madeleine when we are talking about food – I’ve taught her well.

I’ve dipped these madeleines in some dairy free dark chocolate and added some sprinkles.  I took this batch into work and a few people commented they look like little ice cream cones.  If you like this recipe I also have one for white chocolate and raspberry madeleines.
