Gluten and Dairy Free Affogato



This recipe is so simple to make it almost isn’t a recipe – but I think it is a lovely little elegant finish to a dinner.

Affogato means drowned in Italian and that basically describes the dessert – a scoop of ice-cream drowning in a shot of espresso.  I also like to add some crushed biscuit and chocolate chips and then rather messily stir it all together so the biscuit goes soggy and the choc chips gooey!  I’ve also had the Spanish version where they use sherry instead of the espresso.
