Gluten, Dairy and Yeast Free Sugar Donuts

Image Text

When I was looking through my recipes I realised I didn’t have a plain sugar donut recipe – I have apple, chocolate, jam and peanut butter but no sugar so here it is. As far as I’m concerned there are two basic types of donut – the bread type and the cake type. The cake time is quicker to make as they don’t contain yeast so there is no proving time.

You can pick whether you want to fry or bake these.

Enjoy!

Gluten and Dairy Free Spiced Coconut Daal

Hello everyone

I’m curry mad – totally love Indian food. I’m a little embarrassed to say this but the local Indian restaurant/takeaway run by a lovely family sent me a Christmas card – an indication of how often I order curry! I realised I didn’t have a recipe for daal on the website – lentils are naturally gluten free but just check there isn’t a may contain gluten on the packet. I know this sound like a ridiculous warning but I have seen a packet of lentils with that allergy advice!

I’ve used coconut milk to make this daal lovely and cream but still dairy free. I served this with some brown rice and a gluten free naan bread – perfect for a hearty dinner.

Enjoy!

Gluten, Dairy & Egg Free Chocolate and Peanut Butter Mousse

Hello everyone

I find it difficult to trying to find dairy free alternatives to double cream. Two of the ingredients I use a lot as substitutes are peanut butter and chilled coconut milk. I have been trying to find a chocolate mousse style dessert that was gluten, dairy and egg free and was pleased with the result of this attempt. It’s pretty rich so you only need a little amount – I’m thinking I need to use this in some kind of chocolate peanut butter pie recipe.

Enjoy!

Gluten and Dairy Free St Clements Chiffon Cake

Image Text

Oranges and lemons say the bells of St Clements ….

I wanted to make a cake to take to my parents for New Year’s Eve – traditionally I would always make a madeira cake. Due to time constraints I didn’t have time to wait on the long baking time of a madeira cake so started to think what else I could make. I wanted to stick with a plain cake, not the big chocolate cakes my Dad and I love. This cake is light as a feather and beautifully flavoured with the citrus of the oranges and lemons.

Enjoy!

Gluten and Dairy Free Banana and Kiwi Smoothie

The childish part of me still wants to hate eating green things but I have to admit this smoothy tastes great – even though it is green. Perfect to start the day or as a healthy snack. I have to admit to being a bit of a blender/smoothie addict and have at least one smoothie a day – some prettier colours than others.

Enjoy!
