NoGlu – Gluten Free Parisian Bakery

Hello Everyone

I’m in Paris for a couple of days and thought I would share with you a few of the cool gluten and dairy free places I’ve found to eat incase any of you are heading there soon.

NoGlu has a takeaway shop and a small restaurant across from it. As the name suggests, everything in NoGlu is gluten free, they also have a selection of dairy free items. They also offer soya milk for your coffee.

I went to the takeaway shop at lunchtime and purchased a lovely chicken, mushroom, onion and spinach panini. It was great not to have to worry about cross contamination from the grill!

I also purchased some brioche, a little apple sable cake and some chocolate chip cookies. I’m using the excuse that I’m researching so I can try loads!

Everything tastes great and my travel buddy said you would never taste the difference.

Gluten and Dairy Free Madeira Cake

Madeira Cake

This cake is a family favourite, I use this recipe all the time and it was one of the first recipes I worked on adapting after diagnosis. I mainly use this recipe as the base for any celebration cake as it can easily be shaped and decorated into anything you like. A Madeira cake is denser than a Victoria sandwich making it easier to work with in cake decorating. Unfortunately it is denser due to the larger quantity of eggs so I apologise now if you are someone who can’t have eggs.

I also serve this cake plain at New Year as an alternative to fruit cake.

Hope you find the recipe useful.

Gluten and Dairy Free Creme Eggs

Hands up if you miss a certain chocolate egg with a creamy filling! It can be quite difficult to get the chocolate the correct thickness, too thin and it will break coming out of the mould, too thick and there is no room for the filling. I personally found it was easier to get the eggs out a silicon mould, to begin with I had a plastic one and found it tricky.

They taste like the real deal but look a little bit messy!

Gluten and Dairy Free Chicken Enchiladas

gluten free enchiladas

Inspired by the success of my lasagne I decided to have a go at making another of my pre-diagnosis favourite baked dishes, enchiladas. I started to research what made up an enchilada sauce and was intrigued to find that there was a lot of debate over whether it should contain tomatoes. Staunch traditionalists claim no tomatoes should be anywhere near the sauce others claim it should definitely be tomato based. I decided to have a go at making both kinds and in the end I preferred the sauce with tomatoes so I’ve included them in my recipe.

Feel free to adjust the level of chilli in this recipe to suit your own tastebuds, some people might find this version pretty mild. You can buy the gluten free tortillas or make my recipe by clicking here –> Gluten and Dairy Free Tortilla Wrap Recipe

Aunty Mary’s Fruit Cake – Gluten & Dairy Free Version

Image Text

This was one of the early recipes I uploaded and I hated the picture of it. I had photographed it on a black board and the cake was lost on it.

I absolutely love this recipe and have eaten this cake since I was a child so thought I would re-photograph it to do the recipe justice. I hope you enjoy it.

I absolutely love curry, it is one of my favourite dinners and I love eating out in great Indian restaurants. I thought I would have a go at making a potato curry as I have had a few requests to upload some more gluten and dairy free vegetarian recipes.

Don’t be put off by the length of the ingredients list, a lot of them are store cupboard basics like chopped tomatoes.

This recipe would be great served with my recipe for gluten and dairy free naan breads.
